What is Yin Yoga?

Yin Yoga focuses on holding passive poses for extended periods (3-5 minutes) to target the connective tissues that surround our muscles and joints. Unlike active yoga styles, Yin Yoga doesn’t involve strenuous movement. Instead, it gently stresses these deeper tissues promoting flexibility, improved joints and joints health, and increased range of motion.

Benefits:

Targets Connective Tissues: Yin Yoga stretches the fascia, ligaments, and tendons, which support and connect our muscles and bones. This improves their elasticity and resilience.
Joint Health: By working on the connective tissues surrounding the joints, Yin Yoga can help maintain healthy cartilage and improve overall joint mobility.

Stress Release and Mindfulness: Holding passive poses for extended periods allows the body to deeply relax, promoting stress reduction and mindfulness. By focusing on your breath and bodily sensations, you can cultivate a sense of inner peace and presence.

Meridian Health: Traditional Chinese Medicine suggests that Yin Yoga poses can stimulate the flow of chi (life force energy) through the body’s meridian lines. These meridians are believed to be pathways for energy, and blockages within them can contribute to physical and emotional imbalances. By gently stretching and stimulating these areas, Yin Yoga may help promote a balanced flow of energy and potentially improve overall well-being.Disclaimer: Before beginning this online yoga practice, it’s important to take full responsibility for your own safety and well-being.
